OpenStack: Its role in infrastructure modernization and containers

OpenStack is used for custom and highly configurable private and public cloud deployments. Initially, service providers have deployed their network functions using virtual machines, and will progressively migrate towards the use of containers.

OpenStack can support both virtual machines and containers within the same platform, helping service providers with their network transformation, but also giving them the ability to maximize their previous investment.

  • Cloud platforms provide modern, agile features, and will support both containers and virtual machines
  • The hybrid cloud will encompass on-prem, public cloud, and edge-based deployments
  • Red Hat OpenStack brings together open source innovation that will allow service providers to transition and scale with confidence
  • Red Hat OpenStack has the ability to host Red Hat OpenShift, providing the ability to natively support containers alongside virtual machines
